I was intrigued by it at first because I’m obsessed with anything involing the Pacific. My attention kept when the 5 ambassadors were introduced: Chief, The Happy Man, Head Dancer, Translator and Medicine Man.
I want my title to be The Happy Woman or Head Dancer. How awesome would that be? 😉
It was just a sneak peek of the show to come but it was endearing to see these men who left to embark this journey with nothing but their grass coverings and smiling faces and to enjoy things of “American life” like roller coasters, golf, spas, riding horses, seeing snow, grocery shopping, sporting events, etc.
I was more so inspired by the Tanna tribe because years ago some Americans had come to the island by accident ( I forget how) and left an everlasting impression on them. They wanted to know if Americans were still as generous as their ancestors talked about.
In the last scene, you see a man from Tanna speaking to a cowboy and says, ” I love you.” The cowboy uncomfortably smiles and as the man keeps on speaking, it moves the cowboy to tears.
“I love you for showing me how to ride horses and to herd the cattle, but I love you more for showing me your way of life.”
As Christians, we are all just called to love. We love God, others and ourselves but all in all, LOVE. It is supposed to be simple; yet it can be a struggle for many of us including myself. Imagine if we lived our lives so radically for our God that generations later, people wondered if we still existed. If we loved so deeply and unconditionally, that we inspired nations.
We are called to love in a CRAZY manner. We are to help those around us, turn our cheeks and offer what we have. It’s the least we can do. After all Jesus showed us the greatest love in giving his life for us. WE ARE CALLED to love like that.
Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.”- Matthew 22: 37-39
love of God and God’s love will be told from generation to generation
and our grandchildren’s grandchildren will be inspired by what we do
now. We will know that years later they are still living out God’s
unconditional love because how we lived!
