When I was first accepted on the World Race back in January, I thought September was still a ways off. It was still a ways off, but my how times flies! We are nearly in the middle of July. In 15 short days my squad and I will be arriving in White, Georgia for training camp! It’s still somewhat surreal to believe that in a shirt time I will be leaving this great country to experience the greatness off 11 other countries. I remember reading blogs from the January 2010 squad as they launched. I have read many blogs from the June squad as they launched along the with the recently launched July squad. I’m so excited to meet those on my squad and even more excited to meet those that will be on my team. The September squad will be the next squad to launch!! No more waiting for other squads to share their blogs, videos, and pics describing their launch. The next updates you read about launching out will be those from my squad ๐
I also wanted to share how support raising is going! The World Race has given us some goals that we need to me. On July 14th, I need to have $7,000 in my account. Just 4 weeks after that I need to have a total of $8,500.
Yay!!!! July’s support goal has been reached!
Threads of Hope Bracelets have gone over very well. I have sold over $2,000 worth of bracelets. This means that I earned just over $1,000 for my trip. There aren’t many fundraisers like this that allow you to keep such a large profit. Wal-mart has allowed me to set up a table outside of their store to sell bracelets. I’ve done it once already and have another time setup for this Saturday.
In August I will be having a Fish Fry Fundraiser! When Randa and I went fishing at Lake Texoma, we brought back quite a bit of fish ๐ I’m still not sure of the date but there will be lots of great food and fun! This will be your last chance to say your goodbye’s before I head out (sorry for thoes who don’t live close enough! ๐
A BIG thanks to everyone who been praying and everyone who has given financial support. I pray and truly believe that God is going to bless you for your faithfulnes.
Blessings,
Michelle
