Hello friends!
Just a quick update…we made it to Thailand earlier this week! yay!! We have been staying in Bangkok at the YWAM base for our 1st debrief. Debrief is a time where we get to re-energize and relax. We also have time to catch up on blogs, journaling, or hanging out with our other squadmates. For our ministry this month, we will be working with YWAM down in the southern portion of Thailand. I’m not too sure just yet what we will actually be doing there. I do know that we could possibly be teaching English, maybe work in an orphanage, mow some grass and maybe a few other things. It’s all a little tentative until we meet up with our contacts. On Thursday we get to take a 12 hour bus ride to get there π From what I’m told, it’s actually a pretty sweet bus. The seats recline nearly all the way back and it’s a double decker! I think we were also told that it’s an overnight ride. That makes me happy lol.
Thai food is really good so far. Lots of spices! Anyhow, I wanted to post a few pictures of the city and some of what we’ve done. On our first day here, we went to visit Thailand’s Grand Palace. Thailand is a Bhuddist nation and this is where people go to pray. People from all over the world flock to this place to offer up their sacrifices to an idol. They pray to a god who doesn’t exist, to a god who can’t give them restoration or peace, to a god who can’t love them back. I pray they come to know the true God who brings hope and restoration, peace and grace, and love. The place was beautifully crafted…it was actually overwhelming to look at. Here are a few pictures of the city and the Palace. One more thing…to get there we had to take a bus, then a train, then a boat…to get back we took a trike and a taxi cab! π
Thanks for all the comments friends!! I love reading them π
