Greetings from Cambodia!
After a 4 hour van ride, 5 hours at the border getting our visas, and another 3 hours on a bus…we made it to Cambodia! God definately had his hand on this particular travel day. We were told before we left that we needed to keep our belongings close to us, do not look at anyone, and do not talk to anyone! Apparently, the Cambodian border is one of the sketchiest and most difficult borders to get through…especially if you’re a group of 40 Americans lol. We got through without one single problem. It was awesome!
These last 2 days were a time of transition for our squad. Our squad leaders only travel with us the first 4 months and at the end of the 3rd, they raise two people from within our squad to take their places. Our new male squad leader is Andrew! He was one of the guys on team Habibi. It’s pretty exciting. He’s gonna make a great squad leader. That also means that teams get switched up. I am on a completely new team! I am on a team with 3 girls from the former Hepzibah team, one from team Ants, and another from team PLJ. That’s right…I am now on an all girls team! I’m pretty excited about my new team and I think God has some really great plans for us. We had to come up with a new team name. We wanted to cast a vision for our team and speak life into it. We wanted our name to be prophetic and have meaning. The word freedom was brought to our attention several times. So we chose the team name Eleutheroo. It’s a unique name and is translated into “set free” in Greek. Below is a picture of my new teammates π We also found out that we are leaving for the capital city of Phnom Penh in the morning for our ministry. More details about that to come!

Amy Heiser (our leader), Carmen Record, Kelly Brooks, Jenny Ellis, Ashley Bronkema
We also got to go visit Angkor Wat this morning. We were told that the sunrise over it is a must see! They were right. Angkor Wat is an old temple and was one of the finalists for the new 7 wonders of the world in 2007. It didn’t make the final cut though. It was still a beautiful site. Below you will find a few pictures π Enjoy! (You can see all the pictures from today at my facebook…
