Hello friends!!
Last week Cassie and I had the opportunity to help with an eye glass clinic a few hours away.  We started at about 10 am and finished up at 5:30 pm!  All day long the people of the small village stopped by to get their eyes checked and receive a pair of corrective lenses at no charge.  In order to go in for your appointment you had to meet with pastor of the church where the clinic was being help.  The pastor shared the Gospel with them and offered to pray with anyone who was okay with it.  And one by one each person went in and received their glasses.  They also had the opportunity to have their pictures taken with and American and a Canadian.  Just about everyone in these small villages have never seen a foreigner…let alone 2 from 2 different countries lol.  Anyone who got their picture taken could get a print of it at the church service the following Sunday.  We had a really great time.  The pastor mentioned that these clinics are usually pretty boring and people are rather quiet.  Yesterday was different.  People smiled and interacted with each other and just generally had a good time.  Most were excited to get their pictures taken with us.  Cassie and I even got to pray with a few of them and just share about our lives.  One of my favorites was a 4 year old named Arena (or something like that!)  She spoke about fifteen words.  Those fifteen words are:  1, 2, 3, 4…13, 14, 15 lol.  We had several conversations…they all consisted of her speaking nothing but Russian (we are 25 minutes from the Russian border) and me speaking only English.  She was looking at a Christian comic book that told the story of creation and Christ.  She would ask in Russian what things were…and I would answer in English.  She was adorable!  We did another clinic recently but we didn’t take pictures with all the patients.  This time we shared our testimonies and helped hand out literature.  We also got the opportunity to hang out and talk with people that came through.  Here are some pictures from the clinics we have been to.  Enjoy!
