Let me introduce you to the team:

Evelyn Klingler – she is the woman who set up the trip. Her and her husband were missionaries to Peru for 15 years, then to Honduras for 6 years, then she was the director for Central America with Global University, and now she and her husband are planting a church in Reading PA. She is a powerful servant of the Lord who hears from God and speaks fluent Spanish. No, they don’t speak Mexican in Honduras, they speak Spanish, as does Mexico :0) The question comes up more than you might think. She spoke and translated which made for some very long days, but her deep, deep love for the people of Honduras provided more than enough fuel for her unending energy.

Nancy Miller – she went to Honduras on a trip with Evelyn 6 years ago and they experienced a powerful move of God. She operates in the true role of a Prophet, though she would not identify herself that way. Her humility is one of the greatest things about her Prophetic gifting. There is no pomp and circumstance, no show or badge of honor. She just speaks what the Lord tells her to say, and wow is she spot on. So many times, what she is praying, or saying is being exactly and specifically confirmed in a way we can tangibly see and hear. She is the Assimilation Pastor for the Klinglers new church in Reading.

Logan Richie – our ‘la joven’ (the affectionate name for a young person in Honduras). She is a high school student, and a sweet young woman of God. She was ‘all in’ for service and ministry. She shared a short testimony at many of the meetings, and each time she spoke, she got a powerful word from the Lord. Often, the word came during her quiet times that morning. After picking up in the pattern, we started wanting to know what God showed her in the morning because we knew it would give us a glimpse into what God was going to be doing in the hearts of women later that day.

Michelle Close – well, you know me already :0) If you don’t, read more of my blog :0)

Our company: Most days, we were accompanied by some of our Honduran friends:

Julio: our driver – He owns the car service company and even though he had lots of other jobs going on, he accompanied us himself when we went to the most dangerous places. What a powerful man of God. He and his sons who work with him always left us feeling safe, protected, and cared for. Opening car doors is just what they do (take note American men).

Amigdio & Vital: our bodyguards (as I like to think of them). 2 powerful men of God who accompanied us as we served. We were in some very dangerous places but every time I would look back and see one of them, I felt so secure. They didn’t say much (Vital in particular), and you didn’t need to ask them for anything. You would just look back, and they were there, and RIGHT there when they needed to be. During service times, they would move chairs as the alters filled to overflowing, and would carry every bag in sight. What servants!

Marisol: an awesome woman of God who joined us most of the time. She speaks moderate English and could assist with translation as needed. She can leave you laughing in 10 seconds or less and was such a powerful ministry partner. She became such a wonderful friend. She reminds me a lot of my friend Delia, and that is a hefty compliment.

Cynthia: a sweet, quiet fireball who joined us when she could. She is a wife, mom, and pastor, and such a special friend. Her smile could melt your heart and her beautiful little daughter Rachel would sweep away what was left :0)

Mirium: fluent in English, this powerful woman of God is called to serve in India one day. For now, she helped translate sermons for us. My only regret is that she could not be with us more often. But she is a busy women. She is the liesan for missionaries, churches, and the AG district. I don’t know all the details, but I know shes a hard worker with a heart for missions.

Tanya: joined us for the second part of our trip and also speaks moderate English so she helped translate. You guessed it, she also is an inspirational woman of faith who has done some powerful things for God. I hear she would walk miles in mud up to her thighs to teach children in remote regions of the nation.

The Alabama Team:  we were there at the same time as another team from Alabama serving in teh region and joined forces for a few services. More on that to come.

There is so much more I could say, and so many more who served with us, but these are the ones you will likely hear me refer to, so I thought it was important to introduce you to them. I only wish I had pictures to accompany!!! UUGH!
