A few nights ago, our team mates Josh and Jen Mendenhall asked if the whole Squad would spend a day in prayer and fasting so they can stay on the race. With the start of month 3, our next deadline is fast approaching (only 21 days to go). Some members of our squad (including myself) still have not reached their next support deadline. That means that they will be sent home when their funds run out. Tonight starts 24 hours of prayer and fasting for all those who still have funds to raise.
I want to pour out my heart and soul for each person and let you know how much my heart aches to see them stay, and to beg you to fight for them the way that I am fighting for them, but there is not time in the day! Each person has a story…a powerful testimony of the mountains God moved to get them on the race, the ways He is using them to change the world, and the changes He is making in them as He takes them to new places in Him. They are my family! I was going to write things about them to stir you to click their blogs to read more, but instead, I will ask you to take a moment, and ask the Lord to draw your attention to a few of the names, then click to read about what God is doing in and through them!
In my case, I am here because hundreds of people have invested in what God is doing! People like you who have literally emptied out their pockets and purses and wallets, giving me even their last penny! My race is paved with pennies, and each one matters just as much as the last. So today, I ask you to pray for change. Please pray that every penny needed would find its way to my family below and that the list of people who are ‘racing’ alongside of us would grow miles long! This is about so much more than me, so much more than them….. its about seeing people healed and whole, and changed into a new creation in Christ! That He would change their mourning into dancing, their weeping into laughing, their loss into gain. And though God does not need us, in His divine plan, He chooses to use us! And we are honored and humbled to be a part of what He is doing! Will you join us too?
