“So what do you DO on the World Race”…. I get this question all the time. Such a simple phrase, yet so difficult to answer. World Racers DO anything and everything, and nothing that they ever expected!

2 recent examples:

1)     The video below is a perfect example. It was shot by a World Racer Stephanie May. This video represents her acknowledging and stepping into her calling as journalist for the first time! This video will be used as a promotional video for Pastor ChaCha and the work he is doing in Tanzania.

When their team was assigned to work with this ministry, neither the World Racers, nor Pastor ChaCha could have anticipated that their month would birth an effective promotional campaign to carry the work even farther! World Racers don’t just make an impact for today, but find the Lord constantly throwing open doors for them to make an impact for tomorrow….

2)     Another team I read about recently by Evan Kinney talked about their ministry in Mozambique. The team landed there through a turn of unexpected events. They were not supposed to go to Mozambique, or to work at the local Bible College. Unbeknownst to them, a Tropical Depression was about to devastate the region they were staying. I say devastate because when your house is made of mud and sticks…. wind and rain destroy your home! Well, when the storm had passed, they had the chance to change a life. A faithful ministry worker had been working on his home for 7 years, making the bricks by hand and working to provide a secure place for his family. He lived so far from the Bible College that he would stay at the school for a few days, then travel home for a few days, and so on.  The storm devastated much of their unfinished home, so the World Racers traveled out and helped them rebuild. In the process, the extra hands and extra supplies enabled the team to complete the task that was 7 years in the making.

“So, we had our small plastic table set up under the tree for our meal, but Josepha came out and said he wants to eat dinner in the new room we just finished. So, we pick up our table and move in the new room, a small bedroom size room that was the new pride of this family. A place to keep them dry from the elements and protection from the sun and wind. We packed all of us in there, and thanked Father for all His provision and the food and enjoyed fellowship with each other over a huge feast.”

The  wife expressed Most people are upset and sad by the storm, but I am extremely grateful for it, because if it had not come, you all would have never been brought here to us.”

Countries change all the time and ministry placement can turn on a dime. The one thing you can expect from the World Race, is that you will not be or do what you thought….but it will be EXACTLY what the Lord has!
