1. Your entire squad of 63 people can sleep in places you would never have imagined possible.
2. The socks that smell the worst get worn tomorrow
3. Fire ants leave no leg un-tasted
4. I packed WAY too much
5. Its surprisingly easy to use a crowded bathroom to ‘take care of business’
6. A freezing cold shower that is no more than a steady drip is incredibly soothing when you are that dirty
7. Shampoo can double as body wash, conditioner as shaving cream, and your finger as a toothbrush
8. After you have given 110%, you really do have more to give
9. A squad mates broken ankle can cause prayer and worship to erupt in the camp (please pray for God to heal)
10. I have more expectations in my heart than I thought
11. God loves to put what is best for us above our expectations
I have so many details I would love to share about training camp, but part of the magic of the process is the not knowing. If I post about all the activities and challenges, then future racers might now get the full benefit of the unexpected! Suffice it to say, we were challenged and encouraged to go farther than we thought possible, and sleep places we never should have fit. :0) I will be sharing more details about my personal journey later this week :0)
