Costa Rica…. what can I say?? So many feelings and so much freedom all at once. Costa Rica was an amazing month and I truly wasn’t ready to leave this amazing place.
YES, it was SOOOOO hot, like a tidal wave of sweat that just never leaves.
YES, it was hard work for everyone.
YES, God is doing great things in the city of Jaco.
While we were in Costa Rica we helped rebrand a ministry called Oceans Edge. Our team and another, camped there on the property and we helped build an addition. We dug the foundation, poured the cement, prayed and laid the bricks. We also got to help build a business directory and we got to pray over the city during prayer walks. We also did so much more.
We also got to know Hannah, Carli, Chris, April and many others while there. We got to relax with them, got to know them, and helped. We danced, we sweat, we laughed and sometimes we had minor injuries. Its what comes with living in a construction site.
Being in Costa Rica we had a relaxed dress code and the freedom that came with that was great. The Pura Vida lifestyle just seeped into everything. I felt more relaxed and became more comfortable with my body. At the same time I was being spurred on to continue studying and memorizing the Word along with reading my truths to myself.
Wayne one of the on site construction managers, is also super knowledgeable on the bible and he taught us about inductive bible studies. It was great, and I learned a lot of new things. I realized I’d never read the bible like that, and it was neat to get a new perspective.
I also got to see two of my best friends from back home. They surprise came and visited Jaco for 5 days. I was lucky enough to get to see them almost every day. I also had the chance to get away with them for the day and get fully relaxed and recharged. It was just amazing. Plus we got to swim and snorkel all day and it was epic.
So lots of things happened in Costa Rica. A lot has made me really love this country. The way that all the missionaries know each other and support one another is amazing. And this didn’t just happen in Jaco, it was in Heredia and what I am sure is all over the country. I simply love Costa Rica.
I am not sure what God has planned for me, but I sure wouldn’t mind returning there one day.
And when I see you, ask me about Costa Rica. I will tell you all kinds of fun stories! 😉
