Hello faithful followers,

As many of you know, I work night shift at the hospital. I love my job taking care of premature babies. I love the snuggling, the feeding and even the diaper changing. However, in the downtime between 3-5 am, while I try to stay awake, I research packing blogs. And not just 10-15 peoples’ blogs, like 100-200 of them!! It is a little out of control. Then once I wake up the next afternoon, I get all panicked and want to pack my bag…… LOL

Yeah, that happens.

Then this happens….

packing

…..at least once a week!! LOL

Its been hard trying to whittle down the size of my bag. From all the things I think are essential (2 swimsuits, lots of clothes, gerber tool), to what actually is essential (sleeping pad, tent, less clothes), to items I really want to bring (my hammock and a travel fan). Its a challenge. My sleeping gear is mostly settled, which I am grateful for. I tried to sleep on this orange pad, pictured below, and just couldn’t do it. So I am going with my green one. The only unfortunate thing is it is three times bigger, and weighs 5 pounds. It will have to be strapped to the outside of my bag. With trying to keep my bag under 45lbs, this is a big decision. But sleep is important. This is my bed for the year.

I am slowly getting there.

For now, I will keep practice packing my bag. I will also try not to freak out. And try to stop reading packing blogs. I have about 4 weeks until training camp, which will act as a trial run. Will I really take everything I have planned? What will I leave behind?

Ohhh the choices. 🙂

Embrace the challenge.

Love the journey.

🙂

PS. Shout out to everyone who has donated and helped support me! I am finally at 51% funded, and I am greatly looking forward to 75% then 100%!! I am so grateful, and blessed beyond belief! Love you all!
