Dear friends and family,

Hey!  I hope you are
doing well!  I am excited to share with
you about what God has been doing in my life lately.  In the midst of a busy college student
schedule, I kept finding myself drawn to the international students and
immigrants in my city and have decided that I want to devote my life to serving
people who come to the United States from out of the country.  One struggle I had as I began ministering to
international students on college campuses and helping at centers for refugees
in the city of Louisville was that I had never really been to any of the
countries these people were from.  As a
matter of fact, I had never really been out of the country much at all!  I felt like there was a disconnect.  I felt God was calling me to spend time
devoted to short-term missions so that when I came back to finish the last two
years of my education, I could relate to the people I wanted so badly to serve.

I was thrilled when I found out about an opportunity to join
Adventures in Missions in a discipleship and service trip called the World
Race.  The World Race is a journey, it is
a program that many people my age take part in as they seek ways to bring the
gospel to the nations.  In the World
Race, racers go to 11 countries in a year and spend a month in each country
meeting the felt needs of the people in the community where they are
staying.  I am so excited to let you know
that I have been accepted to go on the January 2010 World Race trip!

I expect to be humbled and stretched as I go to so many new
cultures and meet so many people.  It
will be a joy to me to serve and preach the gospel abroad.  I am so grateful that God has opened this
opportunity up to me.   I am going to
spend the rest of the year working to earn money for this trip, but that will
not be near enough to cover the expenses.
I am trusting God to provide for my needs.  Ultimately, my prayer is that He will do that
through you.  It would be a blessing and
honor to me if you would partner financially and prayerfully with me in this
ministry.  I am specifically asking for
people who would be willing to pray for me daily until I return.  I must also raise $13,800 which will go
directly to Adventures in Missions.  This
money will cover all of my expenses while I am busy serving on the mission
field.

I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope,
which invites you to share in this ministry.
Please make checks payable to Adventures in Missions.  Including the enclosed card will provide AIM
with all necessary information.  In turn,
they will send you a receipt.

Adventures in Missions is registered with the Internal
Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.  Donors will receive receipts for their gifts
with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at
the discretion of Adventures in Missions and that the gifts are non-refundable
and non-transferrable, per IRS regulations.
Gifts may be tax-deductible; please consult a tax advisor.

I am very excited to see how God will use me and teach me
before, during and after this trip!  I am
praying that God will not only make me a blessing to my team-mates and the
people I meet in these countries, but also to you.  You all are so dear to me and I hope you will
prayerfully consider being part of my ministry.
Thank you very much!

 Peace,
Michele
