“God is so freaking cool.”

“Yeah… tell me something I don’t know, Michael.”

ALRIGHT FINE! Here’s 3 reasons why.

Things have been pretty crazy recently so here is a quick recap on what’s been going on. As our time in Jamaica came to an end, I had been wanting to play soccer all month and never had the chance/someone to take me to play. Every time I had asked someone to take me to play, they said they would and then never came. Then my teammate JJ was making her video of The Greatest Showman dance (you can find it on her blog) and she had asked some local people to help with the dance and there was a younger kid named Cage who had helped. After talking with him for a little, we got on the topic of sports and I mentioned how I loved playing soccer and would love to play and he said that he would come and take me to play. I thought that this would just be another case of empty words but Cage came and got me to play! It may seem like just a small, stupid thing but I was so grateful to play and it made the month so much better.

At the end of the month, we had a debrief in Ocho Rios which is on the northern coast of the country. PAUSE…

At our squad’s debrief, there was one night when I was up on the roof of our hostel with some of the guys in our squad and I was talking to them about how there are times when I’m on the race that I don’t necessarily see the fruit of my labor while on the race. I know in my head that all of it is working for God’s purposes and He is using me in His way in His timing but I was just explaining that sometimes it is nice to have some confirmation that what I am doing is actually producing results. AND THEN GOD SHOWS UP.

All the other guys had gone to sleep and I was sitting up on the roof thinking about college and random people from back home and a person from college came into my head. He was a friend of mine that I had not spent a ton of time with during my last two years of college and after graduation. So, I was thinking that it was pretty random of me to be thinking of this person in the first place. I decided to text him and check up on how he’s doing. I basically just said “..Just randomly thought of you. How are you doing and is there anything I can be praying about?” And he proceeds to tell me that he and his fiancé had just broken up about a week ago. And I was able to pray for him and encourage him in what he’s going through. He said that God has given him a sense of peace throughout it all but he could always use the prayer. And it’s just one of those moments that is undeniably God. UNPAUSE…

From Jamaica we flew to Miami, then from Miami we flew to Chicago. PAUSE…

We had around a 22 hour layover that was scheduled for this flight so I had told my girlfriend, Charity, about it and she was able to come visit me in Chicago! It was such an incredible time and we got to talk for hours on end and just spend quality time together. We got Taco Bell and it was awesome. It was just so reassuring in that we are going to be able to make it through this time apart and come back together stronger than ever.

UNPAUSE…

These all may seem like such small things but it just shows that

God cares about us, even the small things.

From Chicago we flew to Doha, Qatar and finally into Hyderabad, India. Our first week here in India is an Awakening which is basically when multiple squads come together for worship and just to learn more about God and recap our past few months. It has been really eye opening. From here we will go to our ministry and begin spreading the Good News in India.

God bless.
