This past week has been a pretty crazy experience for me. Being a recent college graduate, there are a LOT of weddings this coming summer and fall. One wedding was this past weekend down in Indianapolis where my brother lives. The wedding invite was for me and my girlfriend, Charity. However, I thought it would be a good time to visit my brother and stay with him for the weekend. This is the one wedding I had asked Charity if I could go by myself. I had a great time celebrating with my friends and visiting my brother and his wife. On my way back, I was travelling along I-69 and it started raining really heavy. I was rounding a corner on the road and there was a gigantic puddle that I couldn’t see through the rain. My car went through the puddle and started hydroplaning and immediately ripped the steering wheel to the left towards the guard rail. I tried to stay calm and straighten out my steering wheel, but as I was straightening the wheel, it got ripped out of my hands again and moved to the right. Unfortunately, there was a semi-truck on my right. My tires got traction and hit the semi which caved in the entire right half of my car. The wheels then jerked back to the left and I went head on into the guard rail and spun around to a stop, facing traffic.
And here’s the crazy thing.. after all of that, I left with only a tiny tiny cut on my hand from some of the glass– not even a sore neck from the accident! If Charity had come with me, it is obvious that she could have been seriously hurt, or worse. It’s a miracle that I am still alive and also a blessing that she did not come with me.
I think it is clear that God had his angels wrap their arms around me. God is not finished with me yet. I have some purpose yet to serve Him on this Earth. It almost makes me more excited to go on the World Race and serve Him with my whole life. Because if it wasn’t for his protection, I would not be alive today. I have no choice but to serve him!
