I was recently watching God’s Not Dead 2 for the up-tenth time and this message kind of just jumped out and convicted me. It’s kind of funny that it got me to thinking of stepping up to the plate, since this week was the opening week of baseball season.

In the movie Pastor Dave, played by David White, is at a brunch for local pastors and the topic of sermons being subpoenaed and faith being under scrutiny becomes the debate.

It got me to thinking that the same is true in the real world. We currently live in a day and age where a lot of pastors and Christians are trying to sugar coat and water down the Gospel to make it more appealing, more politically correct.

The Gospel by it’s very definition is the TRUTH and Fact. We need to have the courage to spread the Good News and do so with complete honesty and without omission.

The Gospel is clear in John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” It has nothing to do with what we do, how good we are, or who we know on this Earth. Knowing Jesus, Accepting Him as our Lord and Savior is it. Everything else comes from obedience with Him because we have a RELATIONSHIP with Him.

For those that worry about controversy or talking about issues that makes others uncomfortable remember what He says later in the chapter starting in verse 10;

 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.

12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask me[e] anything in my name, I will do it.

15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper,[f] to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be[g] in you.

18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”

So on this Easter weekend I encourage you to seek God’s will for your life and to go out into your world and speak truth. It won’t be easy and others will make judgements on you, even some who proclaim to be Christians, but have faith and know that He is dwelling in you.

I leave you with this last scripture found later in the chapter in verse 33 33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
