The phrase “so will I” has been my mantra since applying for the World Race. It comes from one of my favorite worship songs, and my favorite line says “If the wind goes where You send it so will I.” A few more of the lyrics read:
“If the stars were made to worship so will I
If the mountains bow in reverence so will I
If the oceans roar Your greatness so will I
For if everything exists to lift You high so will I
If the wind goes where You send it so will I”
I had heard this song plenty of times before and liked it a lot, but during the period of praying about whether or not to apply for The World Race, it just meant something more to me. I remember singing along, “so will I…so will I…” and then came the line “if the wind goes where You send it so will I” and suddenly I felt a tug on my heart saying, “Then do it.” That was the moment I knew God had called me to go.
That being said, there are a few ways you can help me on my journey. First and foremost, my team and I need your prayers! This will be a trying and stretching experience for all of us. Please pray for our health—mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual—and that we will be open to letting God use and change us according to His will.
Secondly, I will need financial support. The World Race is completely funded by the support of others who are willing to partner with me financially. In order to be fully funded, I will need to raise $19,200 by November 30, 2019. This will cover all field expenses (traveling, lodging, health insurance, etc.) during the 11 months of travel. My first goal is to raise $5000 by May 17, 2019.
So…WILL YOU? Will you prayerfully consider supporting me financially throughout this journey to further the kingdom of God? You can do so by clicking the orange “Donate” tab at the top-right side of this page. Whether it is a monthly pledge, a one-time donation, or a commitment to pray, your support means the world!
