Hello both old and new friends!
If you have known me at all these past couple years you will know that I am rarely at home, but you may not know why. I have been both a school and volunteering with varying ministries over the summer. Seeing I am not the best at updating people on those adventures this blog is a great place to start. When I left for college a few years ago if you would have asked me about Jesus I would have told you I believed in Him and how I grew up going to church and had heard most of the stories. However, looking back it wasn’t really until I left for college that I really understood what it meant and looked like to have an actual relationship with the Jesus, to know Him by His heart and not just by His name and all the stories. College is where the Lord invited me into a life of adventure walking side by side with Him, He truly brought me to His feet I cannot imagine a better place to be.
So, a brief summary of what accepting that invitation has been like. He has shown me that His grace doesn’t have parameters, His love doesn’t have conditions, and everything is better with Him in the middle of it, everything. Loving and serving others becomes a privilege, redemption and healing becomes a theme in life rather than shame and hurt, and vulnerability becomes a beautiful strength rather than a weakness. This walk with Jesus is the biggest, most wonderful adventure I could have ever dreamed of, and I want nothing more for each of you and for the world.
Over the past few years the Lord has put the world on my heart, especially the lost and forgotten. I have been trying to figure out where He is calling me ever since I went on a mission trip to Mexico in 2015, I have never felt like I was where I was supposed to be more that I did that week. So, for the past three years I have been praying and I am taking a leap of faith and following Jesus around the world for 11 months to 11 different countries through a program called the World Race. I am not going to lie, I am both scared and trusting of what is to come, sad to leave friends and family and excited for the ways the Lord will use me. I feel privileged to yet again get to go and share the best news ever and the hope I have found in Jesus with the world. These verses have been on my heart ever since that week in Mexico:
“Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
Romans 10:9-15
I long for the world to know about Jesus, for people to have an opportunity to choose life, forgiveness, redemption, and hope. I am excited that the Lord continues to invite me further and further in and the He has now invited little ole me to GO, to leave my comfortable bubble here and to follow Him into the world. I get to accept that invitation to follow Him into places and towards people that don’t know what a relationship with Him looks like. This feels like an invitation into an adventure that I have only dreamed of, it is truly a gift. I want to invite you with me into this adventure, into this ministry! However that may look, through prayer, through one-time or monthly donations, anything and everything is appreciated! I want to share this journey with you, because what a gift it is that we have been invited by Jesus into the Great Commission together! We can love the people He loves, we can love the world!
