You might be wondering what the World Race is or why ‘I chose it’ [& then again, maybe you’re not] but regardless, let me tell you a little bit about this awesome adventure I am going to be embarking on.

The World Race is an 11-month mission trip in which I will travel to 11 different countries [3 different continents!] with a team of kingdom-minded people who’s heartbeat is to see the world changed. The countries I will be traveling to include: Cambodia, Laos, Malawi, Vietnam, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, the Philippines, Thailand, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Our main mission is to see the kingdom of God brought to earth. We are people who have been radically transformed by the Gospel and want to bring that same hope to the people of these nations.

How exactly will we do this? Well, honestly each month is going to look a lot different than the previous. Our ministry will be different, what we eat & where we sleep will be different, & who we work with will be different. I will be traveling with a squad of around 50 young adults and in each country we will split into teams of 6-8 people. Everything that we need to live for a year [except food] will be contained in a backpack that we will carry from country to country. [the weight limit is 40lbs!] My team and I will partner with local ministries and churches in the area. They will provide for us a place to stay, sometimes this will be in the church basement, a spare room, a hostel or other times we will be pitching tents and hanging hammocks. 🙂 We will be living among all different cultures, doing life along side them. We will be showing love to children without families and women trapped in slavery. We will be building schools and planting churches, teaching English and preaching the Gospel. We will be embarking on a journey that is going to change the way others see the world and also the way we see it ourselves. To me, the World Race is not just a cool opportunity to see different places around the world, it’s an opportunity to speak into the lives of the people who live in it. To tell them that there is hope for another day and that hope comes through the love of a Father

During this trip, I have faith that my team and I will see lives changed, chains broken, and people pulled from the depths of darkness. I have faith because, it happened to me. I was being suffocated by the bondage of addiction. I was so broken and hopeless that I couldn’t see a way out and honestly, I welcomed death more than I welcomed life. I thank God every day for the people that believed in me. They showed me love and compassion, supported and encouraged me. They told me about this amazing God that I had long ago walked away from, how He wanted good for me and not evil. Today, I have a peace that surpasses understanding. I know that He put those people in my life to show me what His love really looked like, to build me up when I was broken, and to tell me about a hope that could heal my wounds.

The World Race is now where myself as well as my team get to go and be those people to the people of these nations. Everyone has suffered brokenness in one form or another and it doesn’t matter to what depths that brokenness was, what matters is that now that we have been brought through it, we use it.

The World Race is going to be vastly different than anything I have ever experienced in my life. I expect my faith to be challenged and the borders of my trust to be pushed, I expect to change and to grow in my relationship with Christ in huge ways and build bonds with my team as well as the people we interact with. I expect there to be many challenges and many triumphs, and this is why I need your prayers and support! The World Race is a dream come true for me. I don’t believe I chose it, but that God chose me. I simply said yes. I often feel immensely unqualified to be apart of such an incredible opportunity until I remember that God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called. I believe that through God and those that partner with me in this journey, we can see change happen and hope be restored to so many lives. God wants to show us the vastness of His glory in ways we have never experienced.

I am immensely grateful for all the support I have received so far! God is showing up in big ways and I am so excited to see what else He has in store. You can join in this journey by being in prayer for my team & I or by clicking “Support Me” and contributing financially, I need all the support I can get! 🙂

 You guys rock, thanks!
