Hi everyone! It has been a while since I have written a blog and by the name of the title, you probably asked this question. Why? You might have asked why 2020? Why am I writing a blog now since my Worldrace has been over.
//
Why has been asked so much and I believe it has been asked more this year than ever before in our lifetime. As we enter into some of the final weeks of this year I want to share this with you as I think we have all been here with the question Why Lord?
WHY?
Our questions are important to the Lord, and the Scriptures are full of hurting people asking questions. David poured out some painful and intimate questions. Here are a few examples of David’s questions He asked the Lord and a few you might be asking yourself.
1. How long, O Lord, how long? Psalm 6:3
2. Will you forget me forever? Psalm 13:1
3. How long will you hide your face from me? Psalm 13:1
4. How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? Psalm 13:2
5. Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning? Psalm 22:1
Sometimes David got answers. Sometimes he got silence. But even when David’s questions weren’t answered, his faith in God was stronger than his need to know. Just like David, my why questions allow me to go before our heavenly Father and pour out my heart to Him. They help me process what I am going through.
What are some of your why questions? Have you ever talked to God about them? If you haven’t before, take a second and write down all your why questions. Start with “Why did this happen?” or “Why me? After that sit with the Lord and ask Him in your time with Him.
Here are a few questions that can help you get started.
- How might God use your current trial to glorify Himself?
- How might God use your weakness, infirmity, or disability to display His power?
- How might God use your hard circumstances to show you something about Himself?
- How might God use your hard circumstances to show you something about yourself?
- How might God use your pain for a purpose?
- How might God make this mess into a message?
- How might God use your current chaos to make you into a man or woman who walks by faith, not by sight?
- How might God use your situation to show you that true peace is found only in Him?
- How might God use an untimely death to stir the hearts of others and show them the importance of eternal security in the life to come?
I have had some of my why questions answered with but there are many of them still unanswered. Nowhere does the Bible promise that all our questions will be answered this side of heaven.
God doesn’t promise our stories will make sense in and of themselves. But He does promise they will find their greater purpose in light of His greater story of redemption.
What must you do to walk by faith and not by sight? 2 Corinthians 5:7
What has the Lord done that has made you depend on Him more and have to trust in His sovereignty? He is faithful and even when we don’t have the answer to our why we MUST trust Him because of the integrity of his word. He is faithful and He will see you through as he did before. The Lord hasn’t changed Hebrews 13:8. I hope this helps you and the Lord speaks to you. I pray that the fire inside of you would grow and not be quenched because of the why. That your faith in God would be stronger than your need to know just like David.
Until next time. Jesus is still praying for you and all of heaven is chanting for you! Keep going you can do it!
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Philippians 2:12-13
