Hello everyone! As in my last blog, I just introduced my new team! I am currently in Nepal about to head to Africa tomorrow. This post is about last month. I didn’t share anything about India, and I feel as it is the best time to share now before moving forward into what happened here in Nepal and what is going to happen in Africa. The Lord has taught me s much about patience and humility. Last month in India, my former team and I served in a rural village. Below are some of the things that happened throughout the month and things that I learned — photos taken by Colby Wayenberg.

10 THINGS THAT GOT LEFT IN INDIA

1. In India, the hottest month of the year in April. Being from Texas, you would think I would be used to it. This heat was like nothing I have ever experienced.

2. This little guy was our transportation all month. Most people we fit was ten grown men. Let’s say there is nothing impossible with the Lord.

3. I got the opportunity to preach and pray for fellow believers. In India, they shout hallelujah as we shout Amen while someone is preaching.

4. This is what worship looks like in India.

4. Me and my team did a photo shoot with our kurtas on. It brought so much joy and laughter. I love how I can be myself

5. In India they will have church in the yard of a home. They will lay out mats and the village will come to church as they hear the worship.

Women leading worship.

6. Laundry is hand washed. As we were here we tried to wash our own laundry but the women of the village wouldn’t allow us to. They wanted to serve us and it was hard to tell them no. They wouldn’t allow it! They were really sweet to us.

I also left behind the “Squatty Potty” (Pictured below)

7. I got to learn how to make chapati. I made it in the morning for breakfast.

8. Eating white rice and curry with your hands is the norm here. I ate rice everyday.

9. Indians really like selfies!

10. I connected as you know to the children. I have a huge heart for children and it was really hard leaving them.

The Lord is doing amazing things throughout India. I saw miracles as me and my team prayed for peoples healings after a church services we lead, or when we were going to other rural villages to do house visits. This month we really saw what India was like. It was tough for us because this was the most uncomfortable month for us. But this was the most we all have grown on the race. I know I would come back to serve here in India just not in April. 😀

I will forever miss India. I miss the joy from children and the vibrant smiles from the families from the village, all the children shouting my name “Michael BROTHER come come!” from fitting ten grown men in a tuk-tuk, chicken biryani, chapati, potato curry, preaching in a kurta “Hallelujah!”, The use of squatty potties (ok that was a joke) hahaha. I connected so much with the people out in the villages. It felt like a home away from home. I learned how to live like them and talk like them. I got to see and experience so much of this rich culture while bringing the gospel here. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support! Next blog post, I will share my experiences here in Nepal. I board my flight today to head to AFRICA! I will update you as soon as I get Wifi. I love and miss you all soooo much!
