Journal entry # 3
In the morning you wake me
As my eyes open you are there.
You counted how many hairs are on my head
as I lay fast asleep.
As I rise from my bed the hope you provide rushes over me.
For a new day has come.
A day with new mercies, new joy, new beginnings.
Your love flows so deep
It never ceases to wash over me
And fill my empty heart once again.
What would I do without your love?
I could not love others nearly as well, without it.
What does it look like to love others the way you do?
I need to know.
Your word is like honey on my lips, it is so sweet
It brings life to my soul.
Take your chisel and your hammer
Strip me of the things that are not of you
Not an easy process but once I need to endure daily.
Give me eyes to see people as you see them.
May every person I lock eyes with walk away
knowing how much they matter to you.
How great is your love for us.
Your mighty hand is always outstretched to us.
If only we could remove the pride that stands in the way.
Remove my sinful pride God it does nothing for me
except cause destruction in my life.
I want to sing & dance before your throne.
I want to lift my hands in praise for what you have done in
my life.
Send your vision for my life.
The great & unimaginable things you hold for your son,
me.
May they settle upon me as a feather finds it’s way to the
ground.
Who is like you? You made me alive!
I will sing to you, and proclaim your goodness.
You’ve given me strength when I grow weary
Carried me my feet could walk no more.
Given me words to speak life into others when my mouth could
not open.
I lift my voice to worship you my King
I will find my strength in the shadows of your wings.
Your righteousness is like a mighty mountain.
Your justice flows like the oceans tides.
The birds outside my tent sing of your love
The tree’s sway in the wind and whisper of your Majesty
The waves crash against the rocks & shout of your Glory
You made the heavens & the earth.
Great is your name.
Father, God, Abba, Protector, Provider, Mighty, King,
Everlasting, Alpha & Omega, the Great I AM. The God who was, who is, and is
to come. Mighty warrior, loving Father, perfect Judge, our Rock, our Redeemer,
our Savior.
