The other day I was talking to my parents on
Skype. I was casually mentioning some of
the things we did in Northern Thailand during ‘manistry’. Their reaction to what I said gave me some
perspective. As we chatted, I mentioned
that we were clearing some land and laying some building foundations on the
future site of our contacts home for children refugee’s who are escaping a conflict
with a bordering country, and children who are also fleeing the sex trade
industry and human trafficking. Then I
mentioned that we were also praying over the land to reclaim it for Christ as
previous generations were animists and used the land for witchcraft. This is everyday life on the world race. My parents reaction reminded me that those
kinds of things aren’t necessarily everyday life back home.
