Let the king live forever!  Why should not my face be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ graves, lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?

It’s been a couple weeks since I last posted about this.  I suppose it’s time I finally talked about the vision that keeps me up at night.

God gave Nehemiah the vision to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.  Nehemiah was determined to see this happen.  When enemies tried to stop him, he put his trust in God and continued in the work.  His faithfulness transformed a nation.

The nation of Cambodia lies in ruins after an ugly genocide.  Poverty and fear have left the nation open to attack of the enemy.  It has left Cambodia a preying grounds for sex-traffickers.  It’s time to rebuild the walls.
You see the trouble we are in, how Jerusalem lies in ruins with its gates burned.  Come, let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer suffer derision.”
Long Song for Cambodia is a project to help in the rebuilding of Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, by raising support and awareness for ministries in these cities that are helping in the fight against sex trafficking.  The project also aims to show men and women within those ministries that they are loved, and that their lives are so valuable.
I believe that film, music and art have the power to change people and transform nations.  I believe we can sing their way to freedom…
