Between the crusades and door to door ministry, many people have given their life to Christ. The pastor's with each church take care of the follow up to make sure each person gets discipled. Some days it's normal for 5-10 people to become born again Christians. Those who have gone before us have planted a lot of seeds and the harvest is now ripe here in Busia.
"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me… Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." (Matthew 25:35, 36, 40)
We are doing all these things here in Busia. People come to our house all the time and we welcome them in, and dine with them. We visit the sick in hospitals. We feed the hungry, give the thirsty something to drink, and clothe those who need it. The only thing we haven't done is visit prisoners, but we might do that next week! God has blessed us with so many opportunities, and I am thankful that every time we minister to someone, we are ministering to Jesus.
Yesterday, during door to door ministry, my team met with a christian woman named Emery who is now married to a muslim man. She hasn't been able to go to church since getting married. She has taught her husband about christianity, but he hasn't been receptive. This sunday the guys and I are taking her husband out to dinner and are praying that he has a radical encounter with God, and gets filled with the Holy Spirit! Yeah, I am praying a big prayer on this one. I believe God will come through, and ask you to pray this Sunday night (in your case Saturday morning) that God encounters this man in an incredible way.
