Jesus is alive and at work… Let me prove it!

Atlanta Airport – Arrival
I got to the atlanta airport at around 9am on friday the 31st.  I moved from chair to chair trying to get some rest.  I noticed tons of military men and women all around.  As the day progressed, God put it on my heart to speak to one of them.  When I finally quit debating and set out to speak to one, I turned around and there was a military man walking right towards me.  I held out my hand, thanked him for his service, and started a conversation.  As we spoke, I found out that he was back home for two weeks and got to see his wife and two week old daughter.  He actually had to leave them that day to head back for Iraq.  His name is Michael Parsad.  It was also his birthday.  As we spoke I shared the gospel and shared about assurances of salvation, and was led by the Holy Spirit to speak verses as he spoke about problems in his life.  His demeanor greatly changed as we spoke, and by the end he was pumped!  I gave him my copy of My Utmost for His Highest, and he said he was going to read it on the plane ride.  He is headed back to Iraq for 4 months.  During his last call of duty, the humvee in front of him blew up killing a close friend.  He was driving behind and if he was going 3 miles per hour faster they would have been killed as well.  He said that he knew God was watching over him.  Michael prays before every meal and thanks God for his life.  I talked to him about the Armor of God and he was pumped after reading the verses about it.  Michael went from being overtaken with fear and worry, to being empowered by God and on fire for Him.  I encouraged him to share what I shared with him, to his fellow soldiers.  Praise God!  Pray for Michael.  Pray that he returns safely home after 4 months and relishes time with his family.  Pray that while he is gone he ministers to his fellow soldiers.

Atlanta Airport – Departure
As I was walking to my gate at the Atlanta airport, a man with a crutch started to talk to me.  It became apparent that he had been drinking.  His name is Michael.  He told me that eight years ago his knee was shot in a hunting accident.  Since then, he has had nine surgeries.  Nothing has worked.  I found my gate and it turns out we were on the same flight.  God put it on my heart to pray for his knee, and by the time I got the courage, he was gone.  I went to look for him, and found that he went to the smokers room.  I went back and sat down at my gate, because I hate smoke and it bothers me a ton, but God put it on my heart to meet him where he was at.  So I went to the smokers room and sat next to him.  I talked about where I was coming from, and that God put it on my heart to pray for him.  He pulled out of his pocket a crucifix that his mother had gotten from the pope.  He said he carries it with him wherever he goes.  I told him that Jesus heals in the same way today, and that I wanted to lay hands on his knee.  He allowed me to, and so I prayed for his knee.  I went back to the gate.  He later came crutching over, and so I got up to sit by him.  I began to share the gospel, and he interrupted and said his knee actually did feel a little better.  But then he said that there was no way his knee could be healed, that it was mostly metal all the way up his leg, and that when he gets back to Kansas city the doctor is going to have to amputate.  He said he was actually ready for it, cause he is sick of dealing with the pain.  I talked to him about faith, and said that he could have faith for his healing because of the amazing faith he already has.  Our flight started to board, and so while I was on the plane I wrote him a 2-3 page note.  I couldn’t tell you what I wrote, I was simply empowered by the Holy Spirit.  I gave him the note after the flight, and he seemed to have a completely different composure.  There was joy in his eyes, and he said he was honored to meet me.  He has my email address, so I may hear back from him sometime.  Either way, I know that God worked through me.  So lift this man up in prayer.  Pray for his knee.  Pray also for regeneration in His life.

These are two stories that involve three Michaels, but they are all about Jesus!
