a
blog about people

what they need, what we need.

what
they need:

what they need is Jesus.  they are
searching for things to satisfy,
but the only thing that brings
FULL satisfaction is Jesus Christ.
even as a Christian, I still
often search for satisfaction elsewhere,
all the while already
having found Jesus, which is all I need to
satisfy.

what
they need is an encounter with Jesus.  sadly, if they
are
searching for Jesus, they have a difficult time finding Him in
the
first place they look, the church.  what they tend to
find is
religion.  as it turns out, religion is really easy
to come by, but
Jesus is harder to find.  what
they need is the real Jesus.  not the Jesus that most people
think they know, but the

real Jesus.  check out the gospels, it’s kinda wild.

what they need is to know that they are loved, and that God approves of them.

what we
need:

what we need is Jesus.  we have found Him, we
have welcomed Him in our lives, we have received forgiveness,
eternal life, and now we need
Jesus.  thats right, Jesus is
not just our ticket to heaven.  His life
is an example, to
follow.  His words are life-giving.  His love is
abundant.
His grace is powerful.

what we need is to not only think about
God, talk about God, pray to
God, but to also be with God.  We
also need to be Jesus to the people
around us.  They deserve
a chance to meet Jesus.  We need to shine his
love.  We need to speak of His greatness.  We need to
shout it aloud like a trumpet, and not hold back.  We need to
build relationships, and earn the right to speak into peoples’
lives.  We need to get prophetic, listen to God, get words
for people, words that will transform them and lead them to
Christ, and back to Christ, and
into a deeper relationship with
Christ.  We need to worship God, with our
words, with our songs, with our actions, with our lives.

what we need is to not
only lead people to the King of Kings, but to teach them how to have
relationship with the King of Kings.  we need to disciple
people.  we need to not only be hearers of the word but doers of
the word.  what we need is to meet people’s physical needs along
with sharing the gospel.

and most of all, we need to love God.  we need to love
people.  we need to love ourselves.  we need to love.
