2009 – guatemala
I
encouraged Forrest and Carol (ministry contacts) and thanked them
for
everything they did for us, and everything they’re doing for
the
Lord.
I often put my team first, by running to get
snacks/drinks when they
wanted. I also walked in the back of
our group, making sure everyone
was safe and made it everywhere we
went.
I was very patient while spoon-feeding milk to
malnourished babies.
Encouraged
Forrest and Carol as they encouraged me
hard to build water filters. Helped out at a dental clinic, watched
and played with people’s kids as they sought dental care. Made
gospel bracelets for people in line.

november
2009 – nicaragua
I
took the time to talk and joke and laugh with Pastor Manuel,
even
though I wasn’t really working with him. When we found
out about his
illness, I led the healing prayer in faith and
boldness.
I was a Godly male role model to the guys at “The
Quinta” (orphanage),
and took time to talk with and encourage
each guy. I took my day off
and went to The Quinta to
continue ministry. I spent the night and
taught all the
teens fun night games. The next day off I took
everyone from
“The Quinta” out, and bought them smoothies and
mozzarela
sticks. The teens rarely get treated, or even eat outside
of
the orphanage.
When I realized I had strayed from God’s
perfect plan, I humbled
myself and sought forgiveness from
everyone it impacted. Although it
was very difficult, I left
“The Quinta” and everyone there, in faith
that God
wanted me to continue the race.
Took up faith in the face of a
very difficult financial situation.
at the Quinta, about building a strong foundation in the Lord, by
having contentment in Christ.

When
meeting w/teens at our “amigos” (code word for our
ministry
partners that month) house for worship, I led worship and
sang with
boldness, loudly and with joy. It unlocked a
freedom in worship for
both our team and the teens.
God put
it on my heart to encourage team ‘Newsong’, and so I spent
time in
worship and prayer for them, and listened for what God had for
them.
I came in after their ‘family time’ (time to meet with
team,
discuss positives and negatives), shared what God had told
me, and
then spoke encouragement and words of life to each
individual on the
team
