First comes the story, then comes the BIG NEWS…

A
few weeks ago I decided to go on a small adventure with God.  I took a
kayak out onto the water around 10pm, in hopes of discovering something new
from God.  Right away God gave me direction:  “Circle around the
island 7 times”.

Each
lap around the island God put something new on my heart.  The final lap He
reminded me of Steven and David, two orphans from Kenya who I helped get
supported for a year.  Then He said, “100 orphans”…

Seth
Barnes told this to a friend of mine who’s heart went out to a child she met in
the nations:  “You might not be in a position to adopt a child in the
standard sense, but that doesn’t mean you should do nothing.  If it’s on
your heart, simply adopt them spiritually and do what you can to help out with
their financial needs.”

About
a week after God put “100 orphans” on my heart, I was having dinner
on the back porch of Seth Barnes house for our guys discipleship night.
That night we talked about dreaming
with God
, and towards the end of our conversation we prayed together.
Seth closed the prayer with this:  “And God just put it on my
heart, that the least you guys gotta do is take care of 100
orphans”.

Boom.
He knew nothing about my kayak ride the week before.  Direct
confirmation!  C’mon somebody!

Some
days ago God brought some more direction.  The end of July also marks the
end of a 3-year journey I have been on serving with Adventures in Missions.
Three years ago I set out on an adventure that would absolutely change
the course of my entire life… World Race training camp.  That 10-day
journey launched me into an 11-month pilgrimage around the globe that
transformed my worldview.  My heart was wrecked for the orphan, the slave,
the hungry, and the hurting.  Then came
four months in Kenya, followed by four months leading the B Squad, and recently
working here in Georgia helping the Kingdom Dreams department.

So
my time staying at the lake house, and working with Kingdom dreams has come to
a close, and it wasn’t until a few days ago that God finally brought clarity
for the next step.  Talk about last
minute!

The
other night I was praying about all the options before me.  I had no peace for any of them.  I wrote in my journal, “Where is
peace?”  I heard once that you should follow
the peace.

I started to think about Honduras.  Then I started to look up flights to
Honduras.  After a few minutes of
checking prices, I tossed my phone aside, still a little frustrated about not
knowing where I would be going.  About a
minute later, I got a text message:

“Are
you still thinking about going to Honduras?
That’s where you wanted to go, correct?”

I
hadn’t spoke with this person in over a month, and I was obviously taken back
by the timing of this text.  I called
her, and she told me that “God just put you on my heart, and Honduras, and that
I should, like, help towards a plane ticket or something…”.

Shaka
boomba!

The story gets better!  Stay tuned…
