The 27 bites on my right elbow testify to the fact that a mosquito net with holes in it is less than effective.
My sleeping pad has been to over 15 countries, and has seen better days. The airflow nozzle leaks air throughout the night, and so most mornings I wake up to a deflated sleeping pad and a stiff back.
We lose power every night for a few hours (sometimes the whole night). It usually happens while in the middle of cooking dinner, and so we have to grab headlights and switch from the electric stove to a charcoal grill.
I have eaten the same food for the past four months, cockaroaches and mice come out of the woodwork each night, and most days I battle exhaustion. And guess what…
It doesn't matter! 🙂

(complaints make Kolby upset)
Every situation we can respond with complaints or respond in worship. The bible says to do everything without complaining or arguing. That is why on our team we have a rule that if you can't serve with a cheerful heart, you shouldn't serve at all. I would rather deal with dirty dishes than an angry teammate. Instead of complaining that no one washes their dishes, I like to simply thank God that my household has eaten.
Choose worship!

(worship makes Kolby happy)
Thank you Jesus for a mosquito net that keeps most the bugs out, a sleeping pad that keeps me mostly off the ground, power that stays on most of the time, food in my belly, a cat to scare the mice away, and the strength for every day!
