I have encountered a certain situation several times throughout my mission trips, and prep for the world race. The subject is support money. Most people are fine with the amount they give to a missionary. But there are times when certain people tell me that they do not have much money and they feel inadequate and embarrassed because they cannot give much (usually under $10).
Everyone says that every penny helps, which is absolutely true. But I would like to talk about the specific number that people choose to give. Please do not hesitate to donate if you can only afford $2 or $10. To me, it is all about the heart. If you want to give, do not be afraid of people judging you, and do not beat yourself up because you think the number is to low to make a difference.
Please remember, whatever number you choose to give, that is the number that God put on your heart.
whether you are giving out of guilt, or passion, or wanting to give but you think the number is to low, just go with it. If you do, no matter what the number is, that is what God wanted. The number He had you write down could be a blessing to many and a learning experience for you. Please, take that chance and give our mighty Father some room to work in our lives.
