How I was called to the Mission Field

We were asked to write a blog about how we were called to this mission trip. Here is my story….

God had put missions on my heart long before I became a
Christian, I just had no idea it was Him putting them there!  I was
always interested in going to the places that seemed to be the worst
off and helping the people there, but I wasn’t sure how to get involved
or how to get started.  To be completely honest, I really didn’t look
all that hard either, I just kinda thought about it a lot, not taking
any actions.  Plus, no one I knew was really into the whole missions
scene….that was until I met Denise.
Denise, my friend/co-worker at the time, was always telling
me stories from her trips, mainly the ones from Biluxi, Mississippi,
and her trip to Africa.  The passion she showed when telling the
stories excited me and made me want to go even more.  Then one day, she
came into work and told me she was going to apply for something called
“The World Race.”  I asked her about it, and as she was talking I could
feel my heart jumping up and down, I knew I had to go on this trip.
There was just one problem…..I wasn’t a Christian.  But God works in
mysterious ways!  Little did I know that I would be saved in less than
three months time!
To fast forward a little bit, I was saved!  And if you are interested to hear how that happened, just check out my ABOUT ME
section.  After being saved, The World Race was still very heavy on my
heart.  So Denise, at this time my fiance, encouraged me to apply.  So
after some time in prayer and more thinking, I did it, I applied!  Two
weeks passed (two very long weeks might I add!) and I received some
news….I GOT ACCEPTED!  I was now free to go spread God’s love and
peace throughout the world to further advance His kingdom!  PRAISE
HIM!  So now, my wife, Denise, and I are in constant planning and
preparation for the work God has put in front of us.  It is amazing to
see how far our mission field is expanding!  We couldn’t be more
excited, GOD IS GOOD!
