Expectations of My Mission Trip
We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip. Here is what I’m expecting….
This blog is surprisingly difficult for me to write because
I’m not sure that I want to expect anything. I almost want to be
completely surprised by God with whatever He chooses to reveal to us.
I don’t want to be disappointed if one of the things I “expected”
didn’t get met. I KNOW God will do great things, I KNOW God will break
me down just to build me up again a better man in Him. I will do my
best to write some expectations, but I am surely not trying to limit
the awesome powers of our great God!
I expect
1) To “Declare His glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” Psalm 96:3
2) To “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
Matthew 28:19
3) To become closer to my wife as we become closer to Jesus.
4) To make many mistakes along the way.
5) To experience every emotion that our great and powerful God has given to us, and to do so many times.
6) To make friendships that last a lifetime and beyond.
I’m sure that I subconsiously expect more to happen, but I
honestly want to go into this with only a few expectations. God is so
powerful and amazing, don’t ya think?
God’s blessings to all of you!
