When you give God the opportunity it is amazing what He will do.
It’s 11:19. I’m sitting on my bed at the Holiday Inn across from the Atlanta Airport.
This is wild.
My bag is packed. I’ve said my goodbyes. I’m leaving for a year.
God has blessed me.
I am 25 years old and I have been to 16 countries. By the end of 2015 I’ll have been to more counties than years I’ve been alive.
I travel a lot.
I don’t travel so that I can see ancient ruins, walk the Great Wall or to mark another country off my list. For me traveling is so much more than that. I travel to share the Love of God to ends of the earth.
It has been a busy place at the Holiday Inn as seven squads consisting of 280 people flew in and made this their home for the week. All of them currently packing there bags trying to fit their “lives” into a backpack (something I’ve become all to comfortable with) as they prepare to live the next year of their lives overseas.
I remember four years ago when I launched on World Race. I felt like a deer in the headlights, but full of excitement. Over the course of that year God took me on a journey that would forever change my life and the world in my eyes.
Now, as a sit on my bed in my air conditioned room, thinking about leaving again, I feel that same excitement that I did four years ago.
So when I leave tomorrow morning, I won’t be going out alone. I have an incredible opportunity to serve God by working for the organization that God used four years ago to change my life. The World Race. Tomorrow starts my journey of leading 52 people who have abandoned “the norm” and chosen to give God an opportunity to do some incredible things.
