That was pretty much my response when i first got excepted to going on the world race and started looking at the countries that i would be going to. I was in school getting my degree in Early Childhood Education and so i knew that children’s ministry and also working with orphans would be where i would shine the most. Little did I know what God had in mind.
When I left on the World Race I was supper excited about being able to work with children. Month one i was able to do just that and it was awesome. I was where i wanted to be. Well month two came and I was mad because my teams ministry that month was to teach English to college students and I wanted to work with children. It was hard but it really showed me how to find my own ministry to do (during my down times of course). I started to spend time with my contact’s boy and just having fun with him. It was awesome and really opened my eyes to what more I can do out side of my normal ministry.
The race went own and while in month 7 I really had to take time and figure somethings out. I was hurting inside for all the children that i had left behind in the other countries. I took about a hour in my tent to just yell at God. I was mad and didn’t know what to do. By the end of that hour I was thanking God because He had shown me that I was going to be running my own orphanage one day. I didn’t have really any clue where until I got home from the race.
With in that next year I knew that God was calling me to Moldova (which was my last country on the race) to open up my own orphanage. He also showed me the Name of my ministry, which is, Voice of the Children Ministries. The purpose behind this name is that many children in Moldova are taught that they have no hope and are really beat down with that. This is done so much that when they get older they lose all sense of joy and hope. I want to go in and show them that they have hope and joy in Christ. I want to pour that into them so that when they get older they can stand firm on that hope. It will be through the children that the nation will be changed.
So with this I am currently doing training in Gainesville, GA and I am so happy to get to share this with you all. Also thank you for those that have supported me and that will be supporting me.
