For the second week of ministry we were in Pengkalan Hulu working with Pastor Loh and her church. The church mainly works with the Native people but also has a chinese congregation. Pastor Loh started this church around 20 years ago and has seen many challenges and blessings come from it.
I Believe our biggest ministry this week was Pastor Loh herself. This is because she is so hard on herself and doesn’t have many friends. We were able to give her encouragement which she doesn’t get that often from the people at her church or her family. She has to run the church and all the ministries the church is involved in by herself. So, I pray the God will send her a husband or just someone to encourage her and help her out with the church. Please be in prayer with me for Pastor Loh and her congregation.
While in Pengkalan Hulu we were involved in many different ministries. Every day we were doing a small group (which some were not small at all) or a church service (which the one on sunday had about 200 people in attendance). We also had one day of visiting some of the native’s homes. Alot of the homes had 3 or 4 families living there, one family to a room. So, some of the rooms had 5 people living in a room about the size of my bedroom back home, if not a little smaller. Our time in Pengkalan Hulu was filled with many blessings and lots of laughter.
