HELLO! (You have to shout it and put some emphasis on the "0"). At least, that's the way I'd answer my work phone to make my co-worker, Lisa laugh. Now that I'm done working, I have to call her work phone from my couch – not as exciting…. So I'm sitting in Panera Bread right now, watching the clock, waiting for 6:30pm to roll around. I'm babysitting my former boss's daughters tonight. They live up in Marietta so I thought I'd leave at 4pm to beat the traffic from Midtown. I got up here at 4:25pm. Whoops. So now I'm blogging. I love Mercia's (boss) girls – they are the cutest things in the world. One is adopted from China, the other from Vietnam. I can't wait to adopt one day. Actually, I'll probably end up stuffing random children in my pack this year and bringing them home with me. Would that be considering kidnapping? Mehhh…
So I'm reading Redeeming Love right now and, yes, it's as good as everyone says. Geez. I know the whole world and their mother has read this book, but for the 2% that has not, it's based on the Book of Hosea. For those that do not know what Hosea is about (do not fret, I didn't), it tells the love story of Gomer, a prostitute, and Hosea, a man who was sent to marry Gomer to bring her closer to God. So far, so good. I recommend you read it then the Book of Hosea, or the other way around. Whichever. I'm flexible. OMG Panera staff are singing Christmas carols right now. I'm in heaven.
For the non-racers out there, i must inform you that our second (of four) financial deadline is tomorrow. I was freaking out at first (we must have $6500 in our accounts), but I am at ease now. I'm at $6350. I've been praying and praying that God will provide, and he has. And I'm SURE the other $150 will come in. I can feel it – and it's a great feeling. I would just like to add that since I posted this blog, $300 have come in!! WOW! God is so good. Thank you everyone!! 8/17/12
(As I write this I am unfortunately reminded of the Black Eye Peas song… "I've got a feelin' whooo hoooo") And speaking of "whoo hoo" here's an awesome picture of my former collegues at GPB, sporting those snazzy World Race t-shirts! I'm so fortunate to have so much support from friends and co-workers.

Let's see… what other highlights can I share with you all… (I promise my blog posts will get more exciting once we're on the field. The sterile environment of Panera Bread is less than inspiring, ya know?) OH I know! This past Saturday, a bunch of us went out to The Sound Table in Atlanta. We were having a great time and then IT GOT EVEN BETTER. God stepped in. One of my friends (I'll leave her anonymous for now) started asking me about God and what makes me sure the race is where I'm supposed to be. I told her that God communicates with us. That I pray for His will in my life. I never expected to be drop everything to work around the world for a year, but God expected it – He knew it. I talked to her about having a personal relationship with God. That Christianity is more than attending church on Sunday. Then I sent her this song. It's amazing. One of my squad mates posted it to our L Squad Facebook group – and I am so thankful for it
Let me know what you all think.
