Today I put in my four-weeks notice at work.  It's crazy to think I won't be working at GPB anymore, but I am relieved to be able to talk about The World Race to everyone!  The secret is finally out!

For those that don't know, for the next 11 months, I'm going to be working in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Philippines, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.  My team will be working with sex trafficking victims, orphans, building churches and evangelizing.  I can't wait to share stories along the way – to give a voice to the voiceless.

I have a lot of expectations for this trip.  I expect a bit of an emotional rollercoaster.  I expect A LOT of tears and heartbreak.  When I was in Cambodia last year, I had difficulty accepting the sex trafficking problem.  I wanted to save each and every woman and child.  But I am not superman.  I am not God.  And that is the hardest part.  Sometimes you just have to walk away and let God step in.  But that's easier said than done when your heart is breaking for the four year old running up to you chanting "one dollar, one dollar".

I expect to become 100% dependent on God.  Right now, I pray, I go to church (online usually), but I get distracted by day-to-day life.  I try to be a good person – but what does that mean exactly?  What does it really mean to walk by faith?  I think this trip will give me the opportunity to figure that out – and I can't wait!
