As I'm writing this, I'm sitting at a train station in Bucharest, Romania…day four of a whirlwind of nonstop travel that has taken me from Costa Rica to the US to Poland to Romania.  I haven't slept more than a couple hours in three days and have been wearing the same shirt for a week.  At this point, forming and typing simple sentences is a long and difficult process.

I have an awesome life.

This has been a week of change for me and for my squad.  We've changed continents, going from three months in the Central American heat to the start of two months of fall in Eastern Europe.  We've changed teams…the 53 of us have been pretty much completely reshuffled into new teams of 6-7 racers each.  And that leads me to the biggest change for me personally, a shift in my leadership role.

I started off the World Race leading Team Reckless Faith, a group of 6 other people that I've had the privilege of serving and encouraging and just doing life with.  Carter Gannon, Kristin Trapp, Sara Shaenor, Christina Norr, and Ty & Becca Steines have been like my family for the last three months.  It hasn't always been easy or pretty or comfortable, but challenging and being challenged by my team has been so worth it.

This week I was asked to step into the role of Squad Leader along with Sydney Ann Fowler and Michael Nicosia, so instead of spending every day with a team of my own, I now have the opportunity to travel between all of the teams and encourage and pour into the whole squad.  I'm super excited to be going into this new season of leadership with two of the most encouraging and deep people I've ever met.  I'm definitely going to miss seeing my old team every single day, but I know they're exactly where they need to be to continue to get the most out of their Race.

So watch out Romania…a plane full of sons and daughters of the King just landed and are scattering across the countryside.  I hope you're ready to be saved, healed, and set free, because the Kingdom of Heaven is HERE.

I think I’m going to go sleep on my backpack now…
