Interruptible
My team and I just entered into the month of the World Race called ATL or ask the Lord. In this month we don’t have a set ministry site. We plan according to what God is telling us and laying on our hearts.
With this in mind our first full day as a team (we just changed teams) we decided to go out to brunch. On our way one of my team mates was praying for God to place a specific person in front of us. Minutes later a lady holding a baby approached us and asked if we could buy baby formula. We agreed and she proceeded to walk us straight to the box of formula at a near by grocery store. As we were paying we were asking her about her life and beliefs and we came to a point where she said she was Hindu and we said we were Christian. The conversation was coming to an end as the purchase was being completed and she looked at us and asked if we would like to come to tea at her home. We asked how long the walk was and she said a 1-2 hour walk and that we would drive in a taxi for 10 minutes. We decided to go.
As we got in the taxi all of us just prayed and told God we were trusting Him with this. After a 25 minute taxi drive we came to a stop. Our new friend, Pooja, then lead us to her village of 3,000 Indians (we are in Nepal btw). As she lead us to her home we learned a little about her story. Pooja is 22 years old. She has lived in Nepal for the past 15 years. Her husband used to make shoes and she sold those shoes in her shop. The earthquake of 2015 that killed over 9,000 people in Nepal destroyed her shop. Pooja now has to beg to survive, she travels to the local tourist city daily just to get enough for her family.
We entered her home and she blew us away by giving us a huge cup of Chia and then proceeded to cook a meal for us. We felt beyond honored and blown away that this women would give so much as she doesn’t have much.
But the coolest part was that we got to share with her the truth about Jesus. We each shared with her what Jesus means to us and how He loves her so much. We listened and asked her about Hinduism. She is very confused and not devout to anything but rather lives for today and finds no hope in her tomorrow. As we sat there God kept whispering the word “disciple” in my ear. So we asked if we could come back the next day to do a Bible study with her. She agreed.
The next day we were back, and once again she fed us chia and food and just loved on us. We got to meet more of the family and her mom who had stomach pain issues for the past 3 years was there. We continued to tell her about the love of Jesus and how He is the one and only living God. We told her about His grace and how it is all available to her. Then there was a point where the Holy Spirit was prompting us to pray healing over her moms stomach. After we prayed we asked Pooja to ask her mom if she felt better. And her mom said yes she was all good and immediately she started to fervidly point and grab her leg. And asked us to pray for her leg that was in pain too. We did and once again Jesus healed her!!!! Yes and Amen JESUS, all praise to You!!!! We then told her that it was by the power of Jesus Christ that she was healed and that it wasn’t us. And we told her about how she had access to Him just as we do… she was very grateful.
My team and I are devoting time to pray over them every day this month. We are planing on visiting them again in a couple weeks. Please be praying for her and her entire community to come to know Christ and for their lives to be radically changed.
Sorry for the speedy wrap up, we are about to leave WiFi for a little bit and wanted to get this out to ya all…
Love you all and thanks for reading.
Live loved,
Micaela
