This month, all of E-Squad is holding it down in Pristina, Kosovo in partnership with The Fellowship of the Lord’s People. When the squad is together, we have the chance to intermingle with all 27 of our squad mates, but we still get to serve alongside the members of our smaller teams.
Team Wailua’s focus in ministry so far has been working in the clothing warehouse and two second hand shops in Pristina. So basically, I’m poppin’ tags and feelin’ like this guy:
In all seriousness, the second hand stores provide revenue for the church, and the church uses the money to support various ministries. Most of the clothes are donated and shipped in bulk quantities to the church warehouse; there they are sorted and prepared for sale.
My teammate Caley and I have been serving mainly in the clothing warehouse. We help sort large bags of clothes according to season, gender, and whether or not they should be used in the store or donated (to the equivalent of a Kosovar Goodwill). Then, we determine prices, add tags, and package the clothing to send to each of the four Mozaik second hand shops in the city of Pristina.
We also have the opportunity to love on and build relationships with the Mozaik employees. Being the light of Jesus is one of our favorite things, so we enjoy spending time with such incredible people.
Plus, we get to play dress up during our breaks…
Who knows what the next week will bring!
Until the Whole World Hears,
Mia
