Sometimes we think ministry only ever exists in the four walls of a church building on a Sunday morning . For me I am realising that ministry is our everyday life. How are we treating people, how are we reacting when in a difficult situation or how we show love to others.
It’s month two of the race and I am loving the relationships you make when going about your daily routine (no day is the same) Weather it be the smiling lady on the street selling fruit, the young boy who just wants to chat, the manager at the hostel who is always there when you need him, the taxi driver, the children wanting high-fives, the young man that helped us find a place to stay, the list goes on. This is community, these are relationships, connections and ultimately ministry.
When I think back to why I started community work, the first thing that comes to me is relationship. I love getting to know people, hearing their stories, learning what they are passionate about and what their skills are. Before coming on the World Race, I worked in an amazing community centre that made me smile every day. I loved the people and all their stories, I loved the passion they had for their community. But one thing that I really enjoyed was my routine and the relationships that came from that routine. It could have been going into the café and having my favourite meal (chicken curry) and talking to the lovely ladies or walking round the community with two women and hearing all their stories. Thinking about those memorises make me smile and I cherish the connections and the relationships that came from that time. I’m excited to live a life of making real connections and building lasting relationships. I look forward to learning more about the communities I spend time in, to hearing the stories of individuals and enjoying every moment of being on the race.

At the moment my total is $11,400 I have a target to reach by the end of this month which is to get to $13,000. If you would like to partner with me by donated to my world race journey I would be extremely grateful. You can do so through my blog or by getting in touch.

Thank you!!
