I don’t want to make time for God. It’s true.

I have heard it said that we make time for God. It got me thinking  if this is the way it should be. We somehow fit 30 minutes of “quiet time” into our busy schedule and feel accomplished. I have been there before where I am squeezing God into my day or checking Him off a to do list. But I hope to never return. I want to be in constant communion with my Father and friend; my Counselor and strength; my mighty refuge and peace. I want to live each day on purpose for Him.

My next question is, “What does this look like?” and “How do I glorify God with each moment?” Here are three areas where I can start:

 – Every thought be pure and of Him

“Take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5

 – Every action be obedient to His will and purpose

“Don’t merely listen to the Word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says.” James 1:22

 – Every word be pleasing to Him because I am building others up and in love and humility.

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

I am saying goodbye to impure thoughts, hypocrisy, and gossip. I know it is not on my own strength, but on His can this be done. So, I never want to make time for God – I want to make my time on this earth all about God.
