Hello! Welcome to my blog.

I am preparing to embark on The World Race in January 2014!

Right now I live in Texas with my parents, younger brother, grandfather and Dooley (a Wire-hair Fox Terrier). A year ago I graduated from Grove City College, but I continue to take courses at Collin College. God’s will for my future, beyond The World Race, is still unclear to me. I hoped to eventually become a medical missionary as a physician assistant, but I was not accepted to a PA program for the upcoming year. For now I plan to reapply to PA schools once I return from the trip (2015), but I am also considering many other options. I worked caring for my grandparents until my grandmother passed away a few months ago. Now my grandfather lives at our house and I help care for him here. He suffers keenly from the mind-altering malady, dementia, so I’ve learned a lot from the experience.

I love spending time with my family and my community at The Village church. Jamming with my brother and Elder Led Prayer are highlights for me. I am really refreshed by exercising and spending time outside, swimming, running, camping etc. Learning, solving problems, and challenging my brain through discussions, reading, and exploring is great fun. One of my favorite things to do is gather people together to go out and serve other people’s needs. I am passionate about fighting injustice. Different peoples, languages and cultures are fascinating to me and it’s a pleasure every time I get to interact with people in general. I love Jesus more than anything! Seeing God’s character and watching Him at work in me and in other people’s lives brings me delight. I am a minimalist. Sheep are my favorite animal. And after fruits and vegetables my favorite food is ice cream. What else … Oh! Green is my favorite color.

Until next time …

“let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” Hebrews 10:22-24
