Dear Family and Friends,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing you all to tell you about how God has been moving in my life. Last October God brought me to the Adventures in Missions (AIM) web site, which is a non-profit Christian organization out of Gainesville, Georgia that offers different types of short and long-term mission’s trips for all ages. As I searched the website, I went to their “find a mission’s trip” tab and looked through. I saw the World Race on the tab and felt that tug in my heart that you get when God wants us to do something. It took me a while to finally fill out the application because I wanted to make sure my heart was in the right place and it’s where God wants me. So because you are reading this you may have guessed that I was accepted to the World Race. As of the first week of January 2014 I will be embarking on an amazing world trek to 11 (yes I said 11) countries in 11 months to love and serve “the least of these.”
I will be going to:
South Africa Mozambique Swaziland India Nepal
Malaysia Vietnam Cambodia Ireland
Ukraine Romania
Through adventure, ministry, community, and self-discovery, World Racers develop broken hearts that propel their hands to act for God’s kingdom around the globe. Every day on the field is going to look different. My team and I will partner with local churches and ministries to: work in orphanages, mentoring street kids, befriending those trapped in human trafficking, door-to-door outreach, manual labor, teaching English, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, healing the sick, and so on.
So here is the part you knew was coming. In order to be able to go on this amazing adventure of love I have to raise a grand total of $15,500 dollars, I know that is a lot of money. However, we have to remember that all possession in this world including money belongs to God and I know he will supply the funds needed.
I have four funding deadlines that I have to meet:
Funds Deadline #1: A total of $3,500 raised and in my account by the last week in September, 2013 (which is 2 weeks before training camp)
Deadline #2: A total of $6,500 raised and in my account by December 18th 2013 (which is 2 weeks for I’m launched into the field)
Deadline #3: A total of $11,000 raised and in my account by April 1st 2014 (which is the beginning of my 4th month on the field)
Deadline #4: A total of $15,500 raised and in my account by July 1st 2014 (which is the beginning of my 6th month on the field)
If there are 50 people committing to $45 dollars a month for 7 months (about $315 dollars total), they would completely supply my funds by March 2014.
All donations made to Adventures in Missions are tax deductible based on the policies and principles located at www.adventures.org/policies.
I have enclosed a response card and a pre-addressed envelope, inviting you to be a part of this ministry. Please make Checks or money orders payable to Adventures in Missions with “Appealed by Meredith Hunton” in the memo box of the check, and return it with your response card. The checks or money orders are mailed to: Adventures in Missions PO Box 534470 Atlanta, GA. 30353-4470. It will take 2 week for the checks to be processed. The response card allows AIM to have the information they need to be able to send you a receipt for your donation. If you prefer to make a donation online using your credit or debit card you can visit my blog: meredithhunton.theworldrace.org and just click on the “Support Me” link on the upper left side. You can choose to do a one-time, monthly, quarterly or annual donation and there will be a 3% fee added for processing that goes to the bank. I would love for you to partner with me for a monthly donation of any amount but any donation will be awesome.
Most importantly, I ask you for prayers. Pray for me, my team, the world or whatever you feel led to pray about; just pray. There is no possible way for me to go out into the world to show Jesus if I do not have an army behind me praying.
I am very excited about what God is doing and I am excited He has invited me to be a part of it. I hope not only to be a blessing to those I will serve, but also to you. I would be honored and blessed to go as your representative to bring the love, peace and truth of Christ to the nations of this world. I want to thank you in advance for your prayers and financial support and taking the time to read this long letter. May God bless you in your walk with Him and as you prayerfully consider partnering with this ministry and me.
Peace and Love,
Meredith Hunton
