So, it’s been awhile.
Mostly because I haven’t had close access to the internet/it was so slow I grew mold/it was so expensive I just couldn’t do it.
But, we are on our way out of South Africa today (June 2) on a road trip. That’s right, team Open Road is hitting their namesake.
We were trying to go to Zimbabwe until pretty much all of the doors closed on us and they evacuated all unneccessary personel from the US Embassy there. Instead, we are renting a car and making no plans (well a few little plans) then we are simply asking the Lord where he wants us to go and who he wants us to talk with along the way.
Besides strangers that the Lord has planned for us to meet, we are going to be doing ministry to one another as teammates. I had no real say in who was put on my team and when we are alone, just the 5 of us, I can see the areas that the Lord wants to work on me. Mostly because pretty much each person brings out some crappy part of my personality in various situations. And it is exactly these parts that I know I need to work on and, obviously, so does the Lord. We are all excited and plan on keeping all of You up-to-date as we drive around southern Africa.
The only plan right now is to go up to Victoria Falls. After that… we’ll see…
Some of you have asked about Botswana and I have blogs on the way. I promise. I came to realize a pretty sad thing about myself there and dealt with the fear it brought up.
So take care and if you so choose you could pray about where we should be going as well as the “divine appointments” the Lord has in store for us-that we wouldn’t miss them.
Love, Meredith
