Hello, hello, hello!
This blog is going to be all about World Race updates and where I’m at financially, and so on and so forth.
My parents sat me down today, and basically helped me realize how much more money I ACTUALLY need to raise to be TOTALLY funded for the race, and put things in perspective for me. It seems a tad bit overwhelming, but if God has brought me THIS far, I know He will bring me all the way.
I feel awkward doing a blog like this, I don’t really know how to lay it out, so I’m just going to wing it.
Right now in my account on here, I have $10,721. Woohoo that’s awesome!!! And that is not counting the money that I am already guaranteed. I still have to put in some T-Shirt money, the money raised from the Silent Auction, and factor in the $400 monthly donations I get. If I add all that in, RIGHT NOW…I have around $15,815 GUARANTEED by the end of December, 2015! Wow! That’s PHENOMENAL! And I am so, so, so thankful!!!
This cost however DOES not count the cost of my vaccines (that I’ve already gotten), all of my gear, my India Visa, Malaria medicine, a needed Dentist visit, and any extra spending money I would need during the Race.
I already have my Day Pack, my huge Back Pack, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, sleeping bag liner, two compression bags, travel pillow, foot print, packing cubes, a portable meal set, clothes line, first aid kit, pocket shower, rain jacket, airporter, and duct tape.
There are still several things I need to get like a headlamp, Chacos (shoes recommended for Racers), India Visa, Malaria Medicine, a argus travel adapter, a portable charger, a rain cover for my pack, and a couple miscellaneous items that I will survive with out if I cannot get. It’s also recommended to have around $900-$1500 extra cash while on the World Race.
Training camp is only 22 days away, not counting today. *Yowza* And so, that means I need basically all of my gear before then. Can God do this? Yes He can!
If you feel led to give money to something specific, like to helping out with the rest of the gear I still need to get, or would like to give specifically to money to take with me on the World Race, please let me know. If you feel led to give specifically on my blog, that’s great too!
I am going to be doing another fundboard to raise money specifically for gear and spending money for the Race on Facebook and attaching a “GoFundMe” page with it, so instead of donating on my blog, you will donate there. There will still be 10 numbers with a special prize attached!!
I’m sorry if this blog seemed a bit sporadic, but I hope that it makes sense! And I hope that I’m not burning you guys out by asking for help. I really appreciate any help given!
Also-Please be praying for a couple of my squad mates that still need to be at the $3500 marker by THIS FRIDAY, and everyone that still needs to hit $7500 before June 12th!!!
And PRAISE REPORT! A friend who was a squad mate that had to leave our Squad due to having cancer is now CANCER FREE!!! WAHOO! PRAISE JESUS!!! 🙂
