Hello all.
This blog is not going to be a “feel good” blog. It’s not going to be filled with rainbow words that make you feel ooey gooey on the inside. This is going to ignite a fire in your bones or it’s going to make you feel sick to your stomach. There won’t be an in between.
First off, I want every person to know this blog is not written out of pride, condemnation or self-righteousness. This blog is written out of sheer concern for your well being and your friends and family. For my friends and family. Something that I need to keep in my own heart and mind every single day.
There’s a gospel that is very popular that people are eating up that is junk food. It’s a false gospel. It’s disgusting and a slap in the face of Christ.
It’s, as my pastor says, Easy Believism.
It scares the HELL out of me. And it should scare the HELL out of YOU!
A lot of people think they are good, because they simply believe in Jesus. There’s a scripture for that.
James 2:19
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder.
If you are going to a church that makes you feel comfortable in your sins, a church that never challenges you to be transformed from glory to glory, to pick up your cross to take your sins to the cross and repent and turn the other way….you are listening to a cheap, disgusting version of a gospel that does not belong to Christ. I do not want to be a daughter of God that paints false visions of delusions to people that are NOT OKAY WITH GOD. It is NOT okay to be in a known life style of sin, it is NOT okay to comfort people into staying in their sin, it is NOT okay to allow people to stay unchanged by the power of the cross!
Jesus talked about Hell far much more than He talked about Heaven. Hell is hard to talk about, it’s not comfortable and it’s scary to talk to others about, especially if you deal with fear of rejection. I know, because I’ve battled it. There have been times in my life, that I fear I have cheapened the Gospel. And, oh how I have repented, and oh, how Jesus has restored me.
Matthew 7:13-14
“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”
Does that scripture strike the fear of God in you? Does it scare the hell out of you? Have you ever thought of the fact that the road is narrow to Heaven and the road to Hell is broad?
What about this next scripture? Have you thought about this one? And remember, this is Jesus saying this. The one that is filled with so much love and compassion….but is also filled with truth and sound judgement.
Matthew 7:21-23
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'”
That is sobering. That is brutal honesty. That scripture is a scripture that also scared the hell out of me. It made me, and still makes me check my heart and my motives. Not out of a works based mentality-but because I want to have a genuine relationship with the REAL Jesus Christ. Not the fake Jesus who softens people in their sins, and lulls them to sleep in their complacency. That “Jesus”…is no “Jesus”…it’s the devil in disguise.
You can prophesy….you can cast out demons…..you can do mighty works and still not have Jesus in your heart. The gifts of God are with out repentance! (Rom 11:29) The devil can pervert the gifts God gave you, and puff your head up with them. He is the DECEIVER! If you are not communing with Jesus daily, if you are not storing up the word in your heart (including the scriptures that make you feel uncomfortable), you will be DECEIVED! The devil will outwit you ALL THE TIME if you don’t put on the helmet of salvation, the shield of faith and the full armor of God!! (Ephesians 6:10-18)
I am not trying to condemn you, I am not trying to make you feel unsaved, I am asking, begging and pleading you to ask the Holy Spirit to show your heart to you. I am begging you to be real with yourself and with Jesus. I am BEGGING you to say an honest prayer, to give Jesus your whole heart, and to pick up your cross and follow Him DAILY.
It makes me feel anxious thinking of people, especially people who think they are Christians, being led down the wrong path. The path of apathetic complacency. God is so against painting false visions to comfort people in their lifestyle of sin that will LEAD THEM TO DESTRUCTION!
Lamentations 2:14
Your prophets have said so many foolish things, false to the core. They did not save you from exile by pointing out your sins. Instead, they painted false pictures, filling you with false hope.
I don’t want to fill people with false hope, false security and a false gospel. I want to share the true gospel. We are all sinners that are headed straight to Hell with out Jesus and what He did on the cross and how He raised from the dead. That we are called to pick up our crosses daily!
Yes,if you have repented and asked Jesus to be the Lord of your life, you are loved. You are redeemed. You are chosen. You are forgiven. You are made new. Yes, you will still have times where you will fall short.
But His grace is not to be trampled on. His mercy isn’t to be taken for granted. We must remember our sin was so horrible He had to DIE to redeem us. His love is no excuse to stay in our sin.
In the last days, the Bible says many will fall away from the true gospel. They will be lovers of selves. They will fall away.
And living in a world with selfies galore, selfie sticks, do your own thing quotes, be yourself and screw everyone else mentality, love how you wanna love thinking…and I could go on and on….well, that scripture rings eerily true. And the preaching in most churches…my goodness.
I know this is not a popular thing to talk about. I know it’s not the fun thing to think about. But it is the truth, and the truth always sets people free even if it’s hard to swallow.
I say all of this in love and concern. I have to walk this walk too, so I’m not trying to sound high and mighty. Like Paul, I don’t count myself have gotten there yet, but oh, how I’m reaching. (Phil 3:12-13)
I challenge you, ask Jesus to show your heart. Be real with Him. And change something in your life if He asks you to….and I truly ask you, all my Christian brothers and sisters, don’t be ashamed of any of the gospel and don’t cheapen it!
With so much love,
Meraia
Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes-the Jew first and also the Gentile.
