Hello! My name is Meraia Renette McDaniel, I’m 22 years old, will be 23 on December 21st, and Jesus is seriously my one and true strength.
My first name is pronounced as Muh-Ray-Uh, and my middle name is pronounced as Ruh-Net. My momma gave me a unique name, and that’s one thing about myself that I have always loved!
I am so humbled to be writing this right now. The attacks that I have been under mentally, even before I found out I got accepted on the race, has been ridiculous. This has made me even more certain that this is what God is asking me to do.
I know that this is NOT my plan. This is definitely GOD’S plan. I don’t feel qualified at all, I don’t understand why God is asking me to do this fully, and this seems way bigger than myself. But, I guess that’s how it’s obvious this is all about what He can do with a willing vessel that isn’t perfect.
Well, since this is about me, I guess I’ll try and come up with some random facts.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus is my best friend. My lover. And I am not just saying that to sound cute, I’m being dead serious. I’d be a horrible, lost, evil mess with out Him. He loved me when I was degrading, when I was a hypocritcal pharisee….He still was patient with me. For that, I’ll be forever grateful.
My mom and dad are awesome parents! They have awesome testimonies that shows how amazing God is and what He can do, and they have led by example most of my life. They are always there when I need advice, and offer a shoulder to cry on. My brother is also amazing. He’s 18 and has grown so much in God. We are a typical brother and sister who gets on each other’s nerves sometimes, but that’s because we love each other so much.
My nan is also a huge part of my life. She’s my great aunt and a second mom! Love her!
I love my church family. My pastors are amazing, the people are amazing…they are like one big family. My pastor has shown so much grace to so many people just as Jesus would and has wisdom to handle different situations. I’m truly and genuinely thankful for him!
My friends are amazing. Every single last one of them. My closest friends, who are basically my family, are in Elev8Nation. Elev8Nation is my parents’ ministry that mostly involves music and evangelism. I play the keyboard with them, and I know that I will miss them so much while I’m on the race. They are my comfort zone!
I love writing, music and acting. I also love traveling!
I’ve been on a week long missions trip to Romania! It was awesome!
I have lost 80 pounds, and that in its self is a miracle of God. I used to be a glutinous pig that hated the gym. And any type of healthy food…and God helped me overcome that. I was starving my spiritual man and feeding my flesh…literally, haha.

Btw: I will be going on July Route 3, which is not the route I would have chosen for myself. I would have chosen to go on the route that goes to Japan in September!!! I love Japan!!! But, I feel like God is asking me to do this route, so better listen to Him, rather than myself!
