Community is certainly the thing I feared the most when thinking of being part of the World Race. But community is teaching me so much since January.
I learned so much from my teammates but also from my whole squad when we gather together for debrief days.
Yesterday our leadership team announced us that there will be team changes in the beginning of May. I knew it would happen at some point, but not so quick!!!!!!!
Not just yet when I feel like we just started to get to know each other on a much deeper level, when we started to open up and share our struggles on the field but also back at home, when we have formed so many inside jokes, when we came up with new nicknames for each other every other day, when we now know how to feel loved, how we like to take our sabbath rest, and handle our wings of emotions…
We have 10 days left together as a team, so I wanted to take the time to introduce you to the 4 amazing princess warriors who have been by my side for the last 4 months.
My words would not be enough to portray who these beautiful ladies are, so I would add some pictures and in particular a picture of the nature that the Lord showed me when we were doing feedback time through the creation (feedback time is a moment we take everyday to encourage our teammates, let them know what they are doing well, what they could improve, what the Lord tells about them, what we see in them and so on).
Dakota
Fierce, rebellious, intrepid…
That could be words that describe her if we just look at the surface level… But there is so much more to Dakota, she ignites with beauty inside and out and is on fire for God.
She is not our team leader for no reason…
She is gentle in heart and serves our team so well. She always make sure everyone feels heard and is comfortable with our decision-making. She is vibrant with life and wants to make the most of every second of her life. She is an adrenalin seeker and always ready for the next adventure. She loves being surrounded with people and playing games but yet knows when she needs alone time.
She is gifted in counselling and has this natural ability to put the right words together to encourage you and bring out the best in you.
She loves studying the Word of God and her commitment to nourish herself with the daily bread is such an inspiration to me.
Just like this flower, she could seem provocative, yet she is so delicate, gracious and pure. She is not one you can miss.
Shavon
Shavon likes to wake up at sunrise and like the sun she starts her day in a beautiful way by spending time with her Creator.
She is naturally gifted with arts and everything her hands touch turn into beauty and gold.
She is also gifted with naturally good form and always has so much energy to share with the world. Her laugh is infectious and has the power to break down your walls.
She brings freshness wherever she goes and her feet are sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace. She’s got a heart burning with the desire to share the Gospel and be a vessel mightily used by the Holy Spirit. I have seen her grow in boldness over the past few months and I have no doubt that she is a powerhouse for God.
Her favorite color is green and like the tender green shade of this plant, Shavon brings a soothing effect around her and as the cold winter gives way to tender greens, she has this ability to bring life to people.
Mhairi
Mhairi is our scottish gift for this year, and the more we unwrap this gift, the more we find out about her. And what we found out is so treasurable! She is very disciplined and when she sets her mind on something she would do everything to reach her goals, be it spiritually or a sportive challenge or even an on-the-fly challenge to not drink soft drinks for some time.
She loves KFC like crazy but she loves God even more passionnately. She has this calm strength that makes you feel comfortable and safe around her. She is very cheeky and witty but always in a gentle way, which makes her such a pleasant journey companion.
Just like this plant, Mhairi might seem complex at first glance, but the more you take the time to get to know her, the more you will be drawn by the beauty of her personality.
Casey
Casey is the little bird of our team.
She has this special way of being herself, always cheerful, a bit flirty, always laughing at something or another, singing, invading your personal space in a very subtle way that you don’t even realize it, but most importantly invading your heart.
She loves physical touch, that’s her very developed love language 🙂 but she is so good at speaking other love languages as well (gifts, act of service, words of affirmation and quality time).
She is very loving and caring and that is what she wants to be known for.
Before arriving in Uganda, she did not know that she signed up for a world race program (fusion) with no settled ministry and hosts, but she is doing sooooo great.
She is growing in courage, wisdom and discernement more and more each day and I feel so encouraged by her growth.
Here is our little flirty bird.

I do not know who will be in my next team but I trust God he is gonna surround each person with the right people so that individually and together we can grow even more.
