I have exciting news! I have decided to follow the Lord’s call on my heart and serve overseas. I will be going on The World Race Gap Year!
The World Race is part of Adventures in Missions, an interdenominational missions organization that has sent over 100,000 people into the mission field since 1989. On October 17th I was accepted to a nine month mission trip where I will travel to a few different countries. Cause let’s face it, for some of us after high school does NOT come college. So to start off my after high school adventure I will first attend training camp in in Gainesville, Georgia for ten days (July 6-16). I will then come back home until “launch” in September. I will work with a group of Christians (ages 18-21) to plant churches and bring the hope of God’s love to those we are intentionally working with, as well as for those God places in our path unexpectedly.

A few years ago I would have never expected to have this opportunity or even have the courage to pursue it. But I feel that the last few years have been preparing me to deal with trials I might face while doing this and I could not be more excited. The Lord has definitely done some work changing my heart and I am amazed at how He has deepened my desire to love Him and share that love with others; to know Him and make Him known. Before applying for The World Race, I struggled with whether I was worthy of this honor or not, but with each passing day, I am reminded that nobody is unworthy of sharing His word and His unfailing love for us.

I am willing and ready to give up my comfort, and worldly ways, and live out of a backpack for nine months because I believe that people in all nations need to know the love of Christ. I want to live for something more. I want my words and actions to show Jesus. I want to help clothe the naked, feed the hungry, and provide the poor with shelter. ~Acts 20:24
But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus. The work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God

Now, the first challenge I am facing is this letter. I could tell you almost anything about my life and feel comfortable about it… This letter is not one of those things. But, as we all know, not many things are free and God does not call the equipped; he equips the called. I have to raise $14,951 this will cover food, lodging, transportation, etc. There are also financial deadlines I am required to meet. I am asking you to consider partnering with me and donating towards this calling. Aside from this I will be saving in order to get to and from training camp and the launch site, as well as saving for gear, and vaccines. A one time donation can be made or there is an option to give monthly.

Thank you in advance for your support. If you are not financially able to support, prayers are worth so much more. You can also follow me through this journey by keeping up with my blog http://melodystone.theworldrace.org/ .

Lastly, feel free to ask me any further questions. I would be happy to meet with you and talk about this exciting adventure.
